NGCV’s current major partnership initiatives focus on giving Children and Young People (CYP) in NewcastleGateshead meaningful cultural experiences.

Launched in 2018, City of Dreams (CoD) is a 10-year commitment to make NewcastleGateshead the best place to be young and is inclusive of 0-25-year olds. Headed by NGCV, CoD has developed a strategy in partnership with nearly 1000 children and young people and over 200 staff from more than 40 organisations focusing on Taking Part, the Voice of Children and Young People and Confidence and Skills.

Family Explorers (FE) is a project that helps families in North East England enjoy a wider range of cultural experiences by recommending where to go in a twice-monthly e-newsletter and Facebook group; encouraging subscribers to share reviews of their visits so participants can see honest unbiased recommendations from families like them. FE is managed by NGCV and partners with a larger network of organisations from Northumberland to the Tees Valley.
