Northern Stage is a registered charity. A theatre where ideas meet and futures change – where we reach beyond the ordinary every time.

We are a community stretching from Tweed to Tyne and Tees. A partnership of artists, writers, makers, digital creators and businesses who exist for more than profit.

Every year thousands come to create and share unique live experiences at Northern Stage. Our home in Newcastle is an inspirational and creative place (with a mean cafe/bar) which belongs to you. Everyone is welcome.

We believe in the social, emotional and political power of theatre to challenge the status quo. A spirit of rebellion runs through all our work and we champion boldness and accessibility. Whether it’s on one of our three stages, or any place where creativity is to be found, we work with an ever-expanding network of artists to create and share entertaining, surprising and imaginative theatre made right here in Newcastle.
